Reach New Heights with the Temple of the Gales!

As promised with our last patch, we bring to you even more Winterlights content that Palians all over are sure to love! And if that wasn’t enough, a whole new temple has appeared: The Temple of the Gales. 🌬️Explore your way up in this all new map area, and enjoy several new rewards and decor items that are being added along with it!

Bug Fixes

• Fixed the issue where players would sometimes not receive Palia Coins when purchasing from the Premium Store on the Switch. (This fix will be retroactive for all players affected by this specific issue.)
• Fixed some issues relating to the rolling activity during Cooking

The Winterlights celebration continues with even more ice-cold decor!

The following 10 decor pieces are now available to be purchased at the Event Register:

• Winterlights Leaf Pile, Winterlights Fall Leaves, Winterlights Red Present, Winterlights Green Presents, Winterlights Blue Present
• Winterlights Snowbank, Winterlights Snowdrift, Winterlights Ice Patch
• Winterlights Snowmound, which you can place presents inside of.
• Winterlights Snowball*

We wanted the Snowbank, Snowdrift, Snowmound and Ice Patch items to be building blocks for a winterscape perfect for snowball parties! We can’t wait to see what wonderful creations Palians come up with using these new decor items. ❄️

Did somebody say Snowball fight?! ⛄

• The *Winterlights Snowball is actually an ammo item! You can equip it using the Bug Belt tool and aim it at an unsuspecting target!
• ⚠️Note: Insects and huntable creatures won’t be harmed, but will be spooked if you try to aim at them!

The Temple of the Gales, six new quests, and four new bundles are now available.

The third temple is now explorable in Palia, and it’ll take you high above the clouds. As it’s the temple for Air, there will be a lot more elements that involve jumping, climbing, and gliding—a bit similar to the Obstacle Course!

• Get started with the questline by speaking to Elouisa OR Caleri.
  • ⚠️Note: It requires completion of the quest, “Echoes of the Unknown.” (You do not have to have completed other temple questlines, though!)
• Completing all Air Temple Bundles will reward you with an exclusive item, the Young Silverwing Nest.

The Young Silverwing Nest will be granted as a reward for completing all of the Temple of the Air Bundles.

• Placing the Young Silverwing Nest on your housing plot will give home to a special creature: a young, yet majestic Silverwing.
• Interact with the Nest once per day for a chance to receive a Silverwing Egg — there are three types, and they each grant varying levels of Focus.
  • A (100 Focus), B (200 Focus), and C (300 Focus)
• This interaction can be done once daily (real time) and resets at 8 PM PT // 4 AM UTC.

The Silverwing Plushie and the Mushroom Plushie have been added to Zeki’s Wondrous Machine.

More Emberborn Furniture recipes have been added!🔥

• 9 decor pieces have been added:
  • Emberborn Bookshelf, Emberborn Wall Decor, Emberborn Dresser, Emberborn Mirror
  • Emberborn Swing Gate, Emberborn Double Gate, Emberborn Fence, Small Emberborn Column, Large Emberborn Column

Some Villagers will now have an idle animation that plays from time to time.

• This will be a continued effort as we make sure all villagers have a fitting idle animation.😊

The following languages have been added in the game settings:

• Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, and Korean

Adjustments

The running animation has been adjusted based on feedback.

• Overall, it should feel a little less “jumpy.”

Starstones have been additionally adjusted.

• The drop rates have been reduced overall.
• The price of some Starstones have also been adjusted.
  • Citrine: 600 → 400g
  • Quartz: 250 → 200g
  • Garnet: 400 → 300g

We’ve adjusted the location of Palium spawns.

• Palium can now spawn from any location where Iron Ore nodes also appear.

A Message from the Studio

Hello, Palians!

Together with the 0.174 patch, we hope the holiday updates to Palia is something everyone can enjoy.

Ever since we went into Open Beta back in August (wow, can you believe it’s only been a few months since?), we’ve been putting out patches every other week, all chock-full of content!

Now that the year is coming to a close, though, our studio is going to take a much needed break. Patch 0.175 will be the last for 2023, and we’ll return in 2024. Every Sixer at the studio extends a big thank you to all of our dedicated players who have been along for the journey up to this point.

But we also look forward to any new Palians joining us, especially on the Nintendo Switch! We have lots in store planned for the future ahead of us, and cannot wait to share it all to you.

Premium Store Updates

Six New Outfit Bundles have been added to the Premium Store.

• Featured Outfit: The Fungi Forager Bundle (2500/Outfit - 5100/Bundle) includes Blusher, Amanita, Chanterelle
  • Each outfit comes with a hat, a top and a bottom.
  • Equipping the top piece will have a special mushroom trail with your steps, and a cute little follower will appear behind you when you pick a mushroom! 🍄

• The Fair Isle Knit Bundle (850/Outfit - 1700/Bundle) includes Natural Wool, Knit Garden, Argyle Weave.

  • Each outfit comes with a top and a bottom.

• Overall, we’ve fixed many issues around crashing, Server Connection errors, and instability. You should have a much smoother gameplay experience!
• Fixed an issue where when requesting an item in the Requests panel, the glow that signified a selected request would remain after closing the panel.
• We’ve officially changed the stock at the Spooky Moon Store, and you should now be able to purchase Winterlights items!
• The Flooded Fortress should no longer trigger the “deep water” teleport in shallow water.
• Fixed an issue where, fishing in some places of Bahari Bay, the fishing rod would always “longcast”, and players were not be able to see the fishing UI.
• Fixed an issue where a game crash would occur when using the right+click function in the chat window.
• Fixed an issue where hitting the ESC key was causing some freezing, and was not saving player graphics settings.

⚠️ Interacting with the Wardrobe while your character is stuck in the “missing textures & T-posing” appearance will cause your character to reset/change appearances permanently.

• You should now be able to re-customize in Jel’s shop to reset your character’s look!

⚠️ Some players are experiencing a blank screen when attempting to purchase Palia Coins.

• While we’ve been able to identify some of this issue, some players may still see this persist. Thank you for your patience on this one!

We know localization is not up to our quality bar, and are taking active steps to improve the experience in many languages. This is an ongoing process, and we're sorry that we haven't lived up to your expectations or our promise to you, our players.

This section was updated December 8th.

• Players may be unable to multicraft items when using a workbench.
• Hitting the escape key automatically equips the wardrobe items currently selected. We call it “fashion.”
• The button to visit other players housing plots appears greyed out when it is actually active.
• Pressing the "K" key does not exit Camera Mode.
