Announcing Premium Storage Options

Starting today in Patch 0.206, we’re introducing a new feature that we’re very excited to debut: Premium Storage!

Premium Storage is a new feature that will allow players to spend Palia Coins to expand their storage.

This feature follows on our previously mentioned evolution to monetization in Palia that we began with Courier Pets, and follows a similar structure. We continue to believe that the future of Palia is brightest when we can support the diversity of preferences that Palians have, both in free and in monetized gameplay. In this case, we have a lot of players who don’t have hours every day to play (e.g. maybe they can get in 30 minutes after putting the kids to bed and getting prepped for the next day), and when they log in to find full storage, they’d rather quit than spend their entire daily budget of game time doing inventory management. That’s not what they come to Palia for and we want to be able to accommodate that.

We think features such as Premium Storage will make the game better for more people, without impacting the experience for folks who choose not to engage with it.

We still believe that the best version of Palia (both experientially and technically) means limited storage, and we will absolutely continue to expand free storage with as new materials are introduced, such as alongside the Elderwoods and Royal Highland expansions; but we also think there’s room to support more players through this premium offer.

As to why it’s premium? We think that’s a very simple way to keep it from getting out of hand, and like we mentioned last time, expanding our premium offerings allows us to expand free opportunities in spaces where we’ve been more protective. For instance, features like Premium Storage have allowed us to feel comfortable and confident to release free character customization options, including Dyes in Patch 0.202 and even new Eyebrows and Eyelashes released today!
